Spring and Fall Shows

We have three spring and three fall shows featuring the best hot jazz from Ohio!

  • Music educators and music students are always FREE

Our shows feature a dance workshop hosted by SwingColumbus before the show. This is entirely optional, but it allows our guests to learn some dance steps to use on the dance floor.

    Queen City Vintage Vibe
    2:30 pm to 5 pm

    A super-group of Ohio hot jazz players will play the classics, and SwingColumbus will host a two-hour dance workshop from 12 pm to 2 pm.

    Whirlybirds
    2:30 pm to 5 pm

    Whirlybirds stand out as one of Columbus, Ohio's favorite bands. They have made a name for themselves by blending classic swing, jazz, and big-band sounds, putting a modern twist on the rhythms of the 1930s and 1940s. With their tight vocal harmonies and even tighter arrangements, the band energizes audiences and fills the dance floor.

    Ragtime Rick and the Chefs of Dixieland
    2:30 pm to 5 pm

    Ragtime Rick and the Chefs of Dixieland is a 7-piece Traditional Jazz Band “sure to make you smile!” Rick Grafing operated his own club, Ragtime Rick’s First Draught, for more than 22 years in Toledo, Ohio. After the popular landmark closed in 2003, he resumed his career as a ragtime performer playing at concert halls, clubs, private parties, Jazz Festivals, Senior Citizen Centers – and anywhere that folks gathered to be entertained and have fun.
