We need plenty of hands! Here are some tasks that we welcome help with:

• Tickets / running the door at events

• Designing print & email newsletters to send to members

• Sharing our events & activities on social media and to local event sites

• Working alongside board members to plan events (secure venues, hire musicians, collaborate with Swing Columbus)

• Grant writing

• Accounting

If you want to step up your involvement, please consider joining our board. Our Board meets every 1-2 months over Zoom.

The Board is responsible for:

• Planning monthly jams & pro shows

• Collaborating with local music educators to teach adults & children more about playing hot jazz & its history

• Administrative tasks to support ongoing activities (grant writing, accounting, updating the website, advertising events, etc.)

• Overseeing volunteers & interns in support of these activities

COHJS invites students and young adults to apply for a paid education outreach internship.

This person works with our board to communicate with local public schools and colleges and coordinate events like our College Band Jazz Night.
