There are many names for 'Our Kind of Music': Dixieland, TRAD jazz, hot jazz, early jazz, even 'jass'. Whatever you want to call it, we love it and promote it through presenting concerts and being a resource for news and events in the national Trad Jazz community. We hope you'll attend one of our concerts and hear why we really love this music!

The mission of the Central Ohio Hot Jazz Society is to preserve, perpetuate, promote, and encourage the performance of Classic/Traditional Jazz music; to secure greater recognition and encouragement of jazz musicians performing in this form of expression; to nurture the growth and appreciation of this music as the uniquely original American artform that it is; and to connect this music to younger generations and thereby promote a recognition of it as a fundamental part of their true musical heritage.

We have hosted concerts in Columbus for our membership and the public since 1981.  More recently we have begun looking at ways to encourage younger audiences through discounted tickets and sharing our knowledge and experience with students and educators alike.
